Karen Heltzel

After a 27-year career directing photography shoots for one of America’s largest apparel catalogs, I bring my vast experience as a photographer working with models to my own Warren County photo studio. Pet photography and high school senior portraits are the types of photography I enjoy most.

I specialize in creating memorable pet photos. I’ve photographed dogs, cats, even horses. I will work with all kinds of pets, singly or in groups, with or without their owners and families.

Senior portraits are another specialty. I love to showcase your unique personality at this important moment in time.

Families – including multi-generational groups – are also favorite subjects. Your family may be just two people. Or perhaps you have a large group that includes children, pets and numerous other members. Recently, I photographed a family group of 60 to commemorate one member’s 90th birthday. No matter your family’s size, I’ll record your moment in time so you can treasure it for years to come.

Business – I’ve provided photographic services for Northwest Savings Bank, Warren General Hospital, Blair Corporation’s recent pet catalog, the Allegheny Musarium group, pre-schools at the Warren YMCA and in Kane, PA, and Shear Madness hair salon in Warren. I’ve exhibited photos at Warren General Hospital’s Cancer Center. I regularly donate my services photographing adoptable pets for the Warren County Humane Society, and was one of the top 25 in the judged category of the American Humane Society’s pet photography competition in 2011.

To ensure my professional growth, I attend at least one week-long photographers’ workshop every year. In addition, I currently am Vice President of the local chapter of Southwestern New York Association of Professional Photographers (SNAPP), for which I actively recruit members. I am a member of the Professional Photographers’ Society of New York State (PPSNYS) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
